Biography

Dr. Bhatki is a Clinical Associate Professor at Texas A&M College of Medicine at Texas A&M Health Science Center, Dallas. Dr. Bhatki is an expert in complex sinonasal surgery, skull ... base surgery and tumors of the head and neck. He specializes in the surgical treatment of sinus/nasal problems, sinus tumors, pituitary tumors, skull base tumors, CSF leaks, thyroid eye disease from Graves' disease, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, salivary gland tumors, and tumors of the mouth and throat. 

Dr. Bhatki brings a contemporary approach to the management of otolaryngological disorders. He has a special interest in sinonasal and/or cranial base tumors, head and neck endocrine surgery, and head and neck oncologic surgery. His approach emphasizes minimally invasive endoscopic surgical techniques. 

Dr. Bhatki completed his residency training at the University of California - San Francisco. There he developed an interest in head and neck tumors and cultivated an aptitude for minimally invasive approaches. He is fellowship-trained in Oncologic Cranial Base Surgery from the University of Pittsburgh where he acquired expertise in both traditional ("open") cranial base surgery, as well as the expanded endonasal approach (EEA). EEA allows for transnasal, endoscopic access to the paranasal sinuses and the entire ventral skull base. By working collaboratively with neurosurgeons, tumors of the sinonasal cavity, pituitary gland, and skull base may be entirely removed transnasally without compromise of oncologic principles. EEA eliminates facial incisions and brain retraction requisite for traditional approaches. 

Dr. Bhatki and his colleagues at Baylor University Medical Center comprehensively evaluate patients with head and neck tumors. Minimally invasive surgical options may be offered, if appropriate, and multi-modal therapy is tailored to the patient's specific tumor and individual concerns. Traditional, endoscopic and radiosurgical techniques are available exclusively or in combination. 

In addition to his clinical practice, he currently serves as the Chief of the Division of ENT at Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, in Dallas and is the Co-Medical Director of the Skull Base Center.
