Advanced treatments
You will have access to a range of advanced treatments for knee pain and dysfunction at Baylor Scott & White, including nonsurgical and minimally invasive procedures and, when needed, traditional surgery. Nonsurgical knee therapies include viscosupplementation, which uses a substance made by your body to ease pain in arthritic joints, and cryoablation, which freezes the nerves responsible for transmitting pain for up to 90 days. Your healthcare team will be happy to discuss new, more innovative injections, such as platelet-rich plasma, which uses your own cells to promote pain relief and tissue repair, to help decide if it’s the right option for you.
If you decide to pursue surgery, you’ll have a team of surgeons who specialize in advanced knee procedures, as well as traditional open procedures, tailored to your body and diagnosis.
